SARAH CARTER has 15+ years’ experience in New York’s development and construction industry. As Director of Business Development for Andre Balazs Properties, Carter led efforts to expand the brand, producing financial models and feasibility analyses, seeking and obtaining project financing, compiling team consultants and overseeing numerous construction efforts and capital improvement projects. During her tenure with Balazs, the company opened Hotel QT and The Standard Miami, developed the residential properties 40 Mercer Street and William Beaver House, developed, built and opened The Standard New York, Meatpacking, and began development of London’s Chiltern Fire Station. Carter moved to The Moon Group in 2010 to deepen her experience in and knowledge of the construction industry. As Vice President of Development and then Chief Operating Officer for the company, Carter directed and oversaw all company related construction and owner’s representative projects. Notable projects included a John Pawson designed private residence in New York’s West Village, a Philippe Starck designed private residence for the King of Qatar, the Anda Andrei designed Asbury Park Hotel, and Cook Fox’s 301 E 50TH ST Residences.
ALLY VARADY joined The Moon Group in 2012 after working as a publicist. In her 4+ years with The Moon Group, Varady earned the role of Senior Project Director by leading some of the company’s most significant projects: She managed the design and construction of the Meyer Davis-designed restaurant, “Vaucluse,” on New York’s Upper East Side, as well as the simultaneous build out of Club Monaco’s 5th Avenue and Soho flagship stores, and Cook Fox’s 301 E 50TH ST residences. In this capacity, Varady oversaw all project planning and budgeting, consultant retention, design development, governmental agencies’ permitting and approvals, construction and quality control, FF&E procurement and installation, and final project closeout.
